On May 18, 2024, the Pharmacy Study Program and the Pharmacy Professional Education Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Brawijaya hosted a significant workshop focused on evaluating and restructuring their curriculum. This key event aimed to enhance the educational framework, aligning it more closely with industry standards and addressing future challenges in the field of pharmacy.
The event featured Prof. apt. Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Airlangga, who provided valuable insights through his presentation on “Implementing OBE-Based Curriculum Towards Pharmacy Excellence”. His expertise highlighted the importance of outcome-based education (OBE) in achieving both academic and professional excellence.
The workshop was enriched by the participation of not only faculty members but also practitioners, alumni, and students. Each group offered unique perspectives, contributing to a comprehensive evaluation process and ensuring that the feedback gathered was diverse and well-rounded.
Following the workshop, a closed session for curriculum development took place on May 19. This session focused on incorporating the feedback and evaluations from the previous day, refining the curriculum to better meet the needs of all stakeholders and preparing students for successful careers in pharmacy.
