The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University (FKUB), held a 3in1 Program in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year to strengthen learning and internationalize lectures. This program, supported by funding from Brawijaya University, featured prominent international speakers, including Prof. Leena Suntornsuk from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Thailand, and national pharmaceutical practitioner, apt. Ary Chodijayanti, S.Farm., M.Farm., from the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) Center, Surabaya.
The 3in1 Program included lectures, guest lectures, and international seminars, integrated into the Pharmaceutical Analytical Chemistry course for fourth-semester Bachelor of Pharmacy students. Through this program, students gained a broader and more in-depth learning experience through direct exposure from competent academics and practitioners in their fields.
Prof. Leena Suntornsuk presented material on the latest pharmaceutical analysis methods, specifically Capillary Electrophoresis and its application in the pharmaceutical field. Meanwhile, apt. Ary Chodijayanti explained the principles and applications of Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) in pharmaceutical and food analysis. The presence of these two speakers provided complementary academic and practical perspectives, while enriching students’ understanding of the course material.
The international seminar, part of this program, was also open to the general public and was attended by academics from various institutions, both domestic and international. This activity contributed to the creation of a conducive academic atmosphere for research and scientific publications within the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University.
Through the implementation of this 3in1 Program, it is hoped that synergy between education, research, and global collaboration will be established, supporting the improvement of the quality of pharmacy graduates and the achievement of Brawijaya University’s international performance indicators.
