MALANG, July 10, 2026 – In the spirit of collaboration to elevate the quality of higher health education in Indonesia, the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FK UB) received a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (FKIK UMY). This strategic meeting was held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Senate Room, 9th Floor of the Joint Education Building, FK UB.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya, Prof. Dr. dr. Wisnu Barlianto, M.Si.Med, Sp.A(K). Also in attendance to deliver a warm welcoming remark was the Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya, Dr. Valentina Yurina, S.Si, M.Si, Apt., who presented the profile and commitment of the Pharmacy Department in maintaining the highest educational quality standards.
This benchmarking activity served as a strategic platform for both institutions to share insights, experiences, and best practices. There were three main pillars that became the focal points of discussion during this meeting, namely:

Implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE): Aligning the curriculum to be centered on learning outcomes.

Development of Learning Assessment Systems: Innovations in comprehensively evaluating the competencies of pharmacy students.

Management of Facilities and Infrastructure: Optimizing adequate supporting facilities to sustain academic activities and pharmacy education laboratory work.
Through interactive discussions and the exchange of best practices, this activity is expected to provide fresh perspectives and constructive input for the development of the Pharmacy Study Program at FKIK UMY, particularly as a concrete form of support in preparing for their upcoming accreditation process optimally.
More than just a comparative study, this momentum is also part of strengthening the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education (Education, Research, and Community Service). The robust synergy and institutional networking established between the two universities are expected to pave the way for expanding sustainable collaboration opportunities in the future, encompassing the fields of education, research, and community service.
As a continuously developing educational institution, FK UB strongly upholds its commitment to continually encourage learning innovations, strengthen the culture of quality assurance, and expand academic collaboration at both national and international levels. This step is taken to support the realization of superior health education development that is adaptive to current global developments and highly competitive.
