SURABAYA, 17 June 2026 – The Pharmacy Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FKUB) successfully organized an Industrial Visit for 4th-semester students. The visit, held at PT Vitapharm in Surabaya, was specifically attended by students enrolled in the Liquid and Semi-Solid Formulation Technology Course.
This industrial visit was strategically designed to introduce students to the real world of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry at an early stage. Furthermore, the main objective of this agenda is to bridge the gap between academic theories learned in classrooms and their practical implementation within large-scale industrial sectors.
During the event, students were given a valuable opportunity to observe the entire production workflow firsthand, particularly for liquid and semi-solid dosage forms. In addition to observing the manufacturing process, students were also guided to learn about Quality Assurance (QA) systems, Quality Control (QC), and the implementation of current industrial regulations in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) for both pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Through this direct field experience, students are expected to broaden their perspectives regarding the strategic roles and responsibilities of a pharmacist in the industrial sector. Additionally, this momentum is envisioned to ignite students’ motivation to continuously innovate in the development of future formulation products.
The Department of Pharmacy, FKUB, also expressed its highest appreciation to the management and the entire team of PT Vitapharm Surabaya for their warm welcome, excellent cooperation, and the high-value education provided to the students. This positive relationship is expected to continue in order to support the advancement of pharmaceutical education in Indonesia.
