High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is an instrument analysis that widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. HPLC is an important part in the process of drug discovery, drug development and routine drug production at present. HPLC is used in the education and research activities in the universities. Therefore, Department of Pharmacy, Medical Faculty of Universitas Brawijaya and PT DITEK JAYA hold workshop of HPLC at the Laboratory of Pharmacy at October 25-26th, 2017. The purpose of this workshop is to increase the competency of analyst and lecture in the development of HPLC analysis software.
The training event began with the remarks of the head of the Laboratory of Pharmacy, Dahlia Permatasari, M. Si., Apt. and then the event was opened by Dr. dr. Sri Andarini, M. Kes., the Dean of FKUB. The Dean of FKUB hopes that HPLC training will increase the knowledge and ability of participants in the operation and analysis of HPLC, then support the education and research activities in FKUB. The training was also attended by representatives of Laboratories in FKUB.
Pacticipants received the topic about basic theory of HPLC, operational technic of HPLC, and newest analysis instrument as LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS by Adib Syarofi from PT Ditek Jaya. In this training, case study was given about qualitative analysis of mixture compound and quantification of one of the compound from this mixture. In this training, participants learned how to use HPLC, mechanism of HPLC, and analysis data with HPLC analysis software. Chairman of the committee, Bachtiar Rifai, M. Farm., Apt. hopes that this training could increases the knowledge and competency of researchers in the FKUB because HPLC has a high selectivity that capable to separate compounds, has high sensitivity, fast analysis process and can be operated automatically (oktvr).
