As part of efforts to strengthen the internationalization of education and academic collaboration, the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Brawijaya (FKUB), facilitated a Hospital Internship program for two pharmacy students from Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA), France, namely Camille DIF and Andrea Dessimond. This pharmacist professional internship program was carried out for two months at Dr. Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital (RSSA) Malang as a platform for direct learning within the hospital pharmacy service system in Indonesia.
During their internship, both students gained comprehensive experience through various activities at the RSSA Pharmacy Installation, including clinical pharmacy services, pharmaceutical logistics management, and involvement in Interprofessional Education (IPE) activities alongside healthcare professionals from various disciplines. Under the guidance of preceptor pharmacists and lecturers from the Department of Pharmacy, FKUB, they also had the opportunity to understand interprofessional collaborative practices in supporting care oriented toward patient safety and therapeutic outcomes.
This program not only provided professional practical experience for the UCA students but also served as a medium for exchanging knowledge, culture, and pharmacy practices between Indonesia and France. The presence of these international students is expected to further strengthen the collaborative network among FKUB, RSSA Malang, and Université Clermont Auvergne, while supporting the vision of the Department of Pharmacy, FKUB, in producing globally competitive graduates through cross-border learning experiences.
