In an effort to strengthen its academic network and explore international collaboration opportunities, the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Brawijaya University (FKUB), hosted a visit from the College of Pharmacy, Taipei Medical University (TMU) on September 30, 2025. The visit was led by Prof. Chia-Jung Lee, Director of the Graduate Institute of Pharmacognosy, College of Pharmacy, TMU.
The meeting took place at FKUB in a warm and collaborative atmosphere. Also present from FKUB were Prof. Saifur Rohman, dr., Sp.JP(K)., Ph.D., FIHA., FAsCC, Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, the Head of the Department of Pharmacy, the FKUB International Relations Office (IRO) team, the FKUB Quality Assurance and Development Agency (BPPM), and representatives of lecturers from various departments within the Faculty of Medicine.
On this occasion, Prof. Chia-Jung Lee presented the academic profile and outstanding research of the College of Pharmacy, TMU, including research focuses in pharmacognosy, natural product development, and biotechnology-based modern drug formulation. The discussion then expanded to broader collaboration opportunities, such as joint research, staff and student exchanges, joint supervision, and the possibility of hosting guest lectures and double degree programs.
The Faculty of Pharmacy (FKUB) welcomed this proposed collaboration as a strategic step to enhance research capacity, internationalize education, and develop a curriculum based on translational research. Through this collaboration between the FKUB Department of Pharmacy and the TMU College of Pharmacy, it is hoped that various initiatives will emerge with a tangible impact on education, research, and innovation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors.
This visit marked a positive start to strengthening the relationship between Universitas Brawijaya and Taipei Medical University and served as a crucial momentum in realizing FKUB’s vision as a leading medical school with an international reputation.
