The quality assurance system is a systemic activity to improve the quality of higher education in a planned and sustainable manner. The quality assurance system carried out by PSPA is the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) and the External Quality Assurance System (SPME). SPME PSPA is implemented based on the provisions of LAM PT KES, while SPMI is planned, implemented, evaluated, controlled and developed by Higher Education based on higher education standards consisting of National Higher Education Standards (SNPT) and higher education standards set by Universitas Brawijaya.
The implementation of systemic and structured quality assurance at Universitas Brawijaya has been developed with the existence of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) of Universitas Brawijaya through Internal Quality Audit (AIM), which is a systematic and independent audit by the internal auditor of Universitas Brawijaya to find out whether the implementation of SPMI is effective and in accordance with the planning carried out by the work unit at Universitas Brawijaya. AIM at UB is carried out once a year to check the conformity between the quality standards set and their implementation by the work unit at UB. Internal audit is a key factor in the management of an organization to be able to provide data that is useful for the purpose of evaluation and improvement and/or increasing the effectiveness of the system. Internal audit is also a fundamental technique whose results are used as one of the input materials for management review activities as required by management system standards
